上次有人問在Mississauga的學區，有哪些學校比較好，我其實不相信明星學校，因為我相信學習是一種生活過程，孩子最好是去不偏頗的環境，越是正常的環境，越可以有更真實的學習，我在大學看過貴族學校出來的人，很難適應平常生活，與人相處也是格格不入，這種遺憾讓我相信去平常的學校學習，對我的孩子比較有幫助。
但是我還是花了一些時間去整理Mississauga，Brampton, 與Celedon 的Peel 區域，究竟哪個 High School 學校的學業測驗成績比較好，讓想了解的人參考，圖上出現名子的學校在過去兩年都表現很好。

ReplyDelete我認為最主要就是學區之內的 communities 居民的素質:
在犯罪率高的社區內的學校
小朋友多半比較不愛念書
問題是他們的家長根本也都不重視教育
在高級住宅區內的學校的小孩往往比較 stuck-up
看過很多家長為了小孩好,拼命往高級學區擠
私底下才來抱怨跟有錢人交往很累
唉...
真的很難啦!!

My idea is to send my kids to an ordinary school. In theory, there will be 50% of the kids perform better than her and 50% worse. I guess this will make my children learn how to respect people better than her and help people that look up to her. She will learn how the society really looks like.

[版主回覆06/30/2007 00:13:54]It is the total of the success rates in the last two years. For instance, if 90% of students pass the test in 2007 and 80% in 2006, its index is 90% plus 80% equating to 1.7.

John Fraser is(at least new/clean). but I don't think streetsville is one of the good one. in the area I lived. everyone wants to go John Fraser.are you planning let your kids go into one of the school on the list?

I have immigrated to Miss on 1992 & back to HK 10 years ago. This summer, I will bring my daughter back to study. She should go to Gr 9. I have picked Lorne Park , Cawthra Park & Glenforest. Pls adv which area is good for live? And are these schools good? Thx.

Other than this, they are all fine. Are you going to live with your daughter or she is staying in a home stay instead?
Thx. I’ll stay w/ my daughter. What is home stay? Is that mean the student can stay in a local family and study in the Public school? But where can I find this guarantee? Actually, I have another younger daughter and she will come on next year (Gr 6). Do you have any ideas about the middle school? Tecumseh, Hillcrest, David Leeder, Glenhaven, which one is better? Coz I want to live in an area w/ good middle & secondary school. Pls adv. Do you have the school yearbook from Ming Pao? Many thx.
ReplyDelete[版主回覆07/07/2007 00:31:19]The hom-estay is as what you have guessed. I don't think you need to be too concerned about junior high schools. As long as the school is clean and safe, it shouldn't be an issue.
